With summer finally upon us, the thought of chopping off all your hair has probably crossed your mind at least 10 times. I don’t blame you, I’m going through the same struggle every year. You’ve worked to grow your hair for as long as you can remember, but when the sun sets and you start sweating your back and neck in the second row, you’re ready to throw the velcro-ing sensation of your locks themselves into your skin.
If you’re thinking of getting scissors for your thick hair, celebrity hairstylists Glen Coco-regularly style models such as chrissy Teigen, Jasmine Tookes, Olivia Culpo, Josephine Skriver and many more-have a few tips for you.
” For thick hair, short hairstyles should feel fluffy with too much weight to make it feel really effortless, ” Coco says. “Make sure you ask your hair stylist to gain weight in bulky areas, [and] add layers of facial framing if you think you need shorter hair around the face.”While wigs are definitely an option if you’re not quite ready to handle it, Coco says to keep in mind that thick wigs can often look bulky, and it’s usually just better to take the plunge and go for it.
